Notes from the demo run

AI-generated

We signed in with Google and drove the maker side end to end: the account dashboard, editing and saving the public maker profile, the submissions queue, drafting a launch in the Maker Launchpad (name, URL, tagline, description, category), then the trending and weekly leaderboards, directory search and a product detail page. The submit form is the best-structured part - numbered sections, required fields marked, and a category picker that is buttons rather than a dropdown.

Highlights
  • The submit form does not hide the work
'1. Product Details' with name, URL, tagline and description visible up front, category as a row of buttons, and pricing model as labelled cards ('Free 100% free to use', 'Freemium Free tier + paid upgrades'). A maker knows exactly what a launch costs them in effort before starting.
  • Ask-AI buttons on every product page
ChatGPT / Claude / Perplexity / Gemini launchers pre-loaded with the product's public context sit above the fold on the detail page. That is a genuinely novel distribution surface for a directory.
Friction points
  • Category pages are mostly empty but do not say so up front
/categories/ai renders the full chrome - search, Newest/Top Votes/Trending sort, four pricing filters - above a single listing ('1 product in AI'). Four filter controls over one row makes the directory look thinner than the homepage does. Collapsing the filter bar under ~5 items would help.
  • Vote counts read as zero everywhere
Trending is described as 'based on recent 7-day voting activity' but the cards we walked show 0-2 votes and the product page says '0 upvotes. Only the total is public right now.' A leaderboard sorted on a near-empty signal undercuts the 'trending' framing for a first-time visitor.
