Notes from the demo run

AI-generated

We enrolled as an operator and drove VulnQuill end-to-end, including standing up a real engagement. For an alpha, the workspace is remarkably complete: a left-rail command deck (Dashboard, Engagements, Templates, Archived Findings, Team, Billing, Settings, API Docs) and a New Engagement builder that captures Title, Type, Description, Start/End/Report dates, Targets (one per line), and scope notes, exactly the fields a pentester fills before kickoff. The terminal/HUD aesthetic is committed to end-to-end and actually fits the audience.

Highlights
  • Engagement builder is scoped like the real workflow
New Engagement asks for targets (one CIDR/host per line), report deadline, and scope notes up front, mirroring how an assessment actually starts. That domain fluency is the strongest signal that this was built by someone who runs pentests.
  • Reporting-first structure
Findings (CWE/CVE/CVSS), Templates, and Archived Findings are first-class nav items, so the platform is organized around shipping the client report, not just tracking tasks. Clear differentiation from generic project tools.
Friction points
  • Two gates before the workspace
New operators auto-approve but still need an email verification link to activate; landing on /pending with no auto-poll means a user who verifies in another tab must manually return. Auto-advancing once verified would smooth the first run.
  • Empty date fields on the engagement form
Start/End/Report Deadline render as blank mm/dd/yyyy; defaulting Start to today (and Report Deadline to +2 weeks) would let an operator create an engagement in one field instead of four.
