Notes from the demo run
AI-generatedWe signed up for Vid Visual, generated a real whiteboard from a 5-minute YouTube explainer, and then drove the signed-in product: the weekly quota, the library, the Whiteboard/Infographic style switch, the generated mind map with its export row, and dark mode across both the dashboard and the visual. The generated artefact is the strongest part - concept cards plus a colour-coded mind map with a 'Made with Vid Visual' footer that is genuinely shareable.
- Generation is fast and the output is shareableA 4:44 explainer went from pasted link to a finished whiteboard in about 24 seconds, with concept cards, a colour-coded mind map and your footer baked in. That artefact is the marketing.
- The quota is visible before it is spent'2 of 3 summaries left this week' sits under the input with a progress bar, so a free user always knows what a click costs. That is better than the usual surprise-paywall pattern.
- Dark mode is completeThe toggle carries through the dashboard, the library cards and the generated visual itself. Nothing we opened had a half-themed screen.
- Long videos fail with a generic errorA 19-minute video returned 'Something went wrong. Please try again.' after roughly 40 seconds, while a 4:44 one succeeded. The quota was not consumed, but the message does not say length was the problem - contrast it with your own excellent 'This video has too little spoken content to summarize'. Naming the limit would stop users retrying blind.
- Plans does not open anythingThe Plans control in the header produced no visible change when clicked during our run, so a user ready to upgrade has no obvious next step from the dashboard.
- Download JPG / HD PNG / PDF·File downloads - out of scope for a recorded walkthrough
- Generate visual (in-run)·Free tier is 3 summaries per week; we seeded one real visual up front rather than burning quota on every re-run
