Notes from the demo run

AI-generated

We signed up, landed straight in the dashboard with no email gate, and drove the whole recorder loop: armed a recording, then worked the built-in sandbox (fill the email, pick a plan, accept terms, Add to Cart, Checkout) and watched QAZero turn each action into a fingerprinted step. The sandbox is the smartest thing on the site: deliberately mixed markup (a hashed class, a test id, an ARIA label and a bare button) so a visitor can see the locator engine cope with all four in one screen. Six steps captured, each with a locator-candidate count, which is exactly the proof the pitch needs.

Highlights
  • Signup is friction-free
Name, email, password, and you are on the dashboard. No verification email, no onboarding wizard. For a developer tool that is the right call.
  • The sandbox sells the product better than the copy
Deliberately mixed markup: a hashed class, a test id, an ARIA label and a bare button. Anyone sceptical about fingerprint-over-selector can falsify the claim in ten seconds without installing anything.
  • Locator candidates are surfaced per step
Each captured step shows 4-5 locator candidates rather than a single brittle selector. Showing the count is what makes the self-healing claim legible.
  • Empty states carry the pricing story
The dashboard leads with SELECTORS HEALED 0 and HEALING COST 0.0 cents. Framing the zero-state around cost-of-repair is a sharp way to explain the value before any data exists.
Friction points
  • Stop recording does not create a test
The empty state promises it becomes a test the moment you stop. We recorded six sandbox steps and pressed Stop recording, but /specs still reads No tests yet and the dashboard TESTS counter stays at 0. The one claim the whole landing page rests on is the one that does not hold in the web recorder.
  • Nav labels and routes disagree
The sidebar reads Tests, Recorder and Setup, but the routes are /specs, /record and /settings. Anyone typing the obvious URL, or an agent following the visible labels, gets a hard 404 rather than a redirect.
