Notes from the demo run
AI-generatedQuizetta (quizetta.com) by u/cptn_rmpt is a deliberately minimalist trivia site: one question, one Reveal-answer button, Previous + Random navigation, no signup, no leaderboard, no streaks, no ads. The single-line tagline IS the product positioning: 'I kept looking for a site where I could just get a quiz question, check the answer, and get another question. I couldn't find one so I made quizetta.com.' Questions hand-curated by [email protected]. The whole UI fits in one viewport: h1 + question + 3 buttons + a Ko-Fi support button.
- Three-button game loop, zero ceremonyReveal answer / Previous question / Random question. That's the entire interface. Each click does one thing. No 'how to play' modal, no settings, no category picker, no difficulty slider. This is the rare indie product that resists feature-creep by design — it deliberately ships a level of minimalism most products grow out of within their first month.
- Hand-curated by a single human ([email protected])The footer credit 'Questions by [email protected]' (a mailto link, not a form) signals these aren't scraped from an open trivia API. Captured questions were thoughtful: 'What does the Greek prefix cryo- mean?' is the kind of question a human picks, not an LLM. Quality-over-quantity positioning.
- Ko-Fi-as-monetisation is honest and frictionlessThe only revenue surface is a 'Support Quizetta at ko-fi.com' button in the footer. No premium tier, no ad block, no email-collection-before-content. For a daily-trivia habit-forming product, this honest 'tip-jar' model usually outperforms premium because it captures fans not subscribers.
- No question counter / session progressAfter clicking Random a few times the user has no sense of 'how many have I answered today'. A tiny '#127 today' or 'streak: 4' counter would add stickiness without adding ceremony — preserving the minimalism while planting a habit hook. Currently each visit is independent.
- No category filter or 'difficulty' surfacingSome users want only history, only science, only language questions. A single-letter filter ('🧪 Sci · 📚 Lit · 🌍 Geo') would help without compromising the one-question-at-a-time philosophy. Power users will bounce if every refresh might give them a topic they don't care about.
- Mobile-share button missingWhen a question is amusing ('cryo-' = 'cold' / 'icy'), the user instinct is to send it to a friend. No 'Share question' or 'Copy link to this question' button. A permalink + share-sheet would be 2x viral with near-zero UI cost.
