Notes from the demo run
AI-generatedWe signed in with Google and walked the whole workspace: video library, assets, slides, scripts with the transcripts view, collections, the storyboard generator, the Canvas compositor (re-framed to 9:16 and switched captions to Karaoke), and the Director pipeline. The Director screen is the clearest statement of what Klipz is: 18 named steps from idea to publish, each one togglable, with 'each step unlocks when the app can see it is done'. That is a real opinion about the workflow, not a feature list. One thing cost us three runs though, and it will cost your evaluators too.
- Director makes the whole pipeline legible in one screen18 steps from Idea/Note through Transcode, Publish and Repurpose, with 1 and 18 pinned always-on and a live '18 of 18 steps selected' counter. Nobody has to read your docs to understand the scope of the product.
- The Canvas re-frames without losing the compositionSwitching 16:9 to 9:16 (TikTok/Reels) and turning on Karaoke captions both applied instantly in the same composition, no re-render prompt and no separate export preset screen.
- Free tier exposes the full surface, not a crippled shellEvery section, Videos through Director, is reachable on the free plan. The Pro gates are labelled where they bite rather than hiding the navigation, which is the right call for evaluation.
- Email and password signup fails silently, Google worksWe filled the signup form correctly, clicked Create account, and the fields simply cleared with no error and no account created. Logging in with the same credentials did the same thing. Google sign-in then worked first time. Worth checking the email/password path, since anyone who avoids social login currently bounces with no idea why.
- Two onboarding overlays stack on first load and block the appA 'What would you like to do?' chooser appears, and after skipping it a second 8-step 'Welcome to Klipz!' tour opens on top. The tour re-opens every time you return to /videos, so it keeps covering the library. Showing one, and remembering that it was dismissed, would stop the first two minutes being spent closing overlays.
- /audio·Redirects to a two-step sync-folder setup that needs a local folder
